Good bye Manhattan

Nicolas Faure

Germany. Panorama Verlag. 1984. First edition. Hardcover. With the dust jacket. Text in English and French. 96 pages. Not paginated. Color photographs. Good plus in a good plus dust jacket.

Stunning and overlooked project portraying the people and streets of Manhattan, New York in the early 1980s taken when Nicolas Faure was a photography student in New York City. The images are very diverse and cinematic and almost in the same vein of Philip-Lorca diCorcia’s theatricality. It is pretty special.

Light wear to the boards. Minor soil spots. Internally, a heavy vertical crease to the first free endpaper. Binding tight. Hinges sound. Beautiful photography. The dust jacket has edgewear. Small chip to the head of the DJ spine. Not price clipped. Now mylar protected.

Very scarce.
