The new Rinn, from Halvarssons, is a technical leather jean made for touring. Unlike most leather trousers, the Rinn has a waterproof membrane behind the subtle nappa leather outer. The leather has been treated with TFL Cool System & Hi-Art aramid fibre in exposed areas.

TFL Cool System;

Black leather can easily become hot in the sun. Therefor we use TFL Cool System – an innovation that ensures black leather to not absorb more heat than lighter coloured materials. Once it has been treated, 80 per cent of the heat radiation is reflected away and the garment can be up to 20 °C cooler.

Outlast;

Outlast technology, originally developed for NASA, utilizes phase change materials (PCM) that absorb, store and release heat for optimal thermal comfort. Outlast is comparable to ice in a drink; as it changes from solid to liquid, it absorbs heat and cools the drink, keeping that drink at the desired temperature for longer. Outlast phase change materials work in the same way, but are microencapsulated to be permanently enclosed and protected in a polymer shell. Outlast call microencapsulated phase change materials Thermocules. This encapsulation process makes the Thermocules exceptionally durable for many applications. These Thermocules can be incorporated into fabrics and fibres and have the capacity to absorb, store and release excess heat. This gives any product containing Outlast technology the ability to continually regulate skin’s microclimate. As the skin gets hot, the heat is absorbed, and as it cools, that heat is released.

Hi-Art;

HI-ART is a proprietary material developed by us. We use the material in especially exposed areas to increase abrasion resistance.
