with this item you also have the added feature of the riot phaser attachment which was a design nearly used instead of the phaser rifle design in season 3 of the next generation. 

you can use it as a hand phaser, or detach the nozzle and attach the longer attachment. 

all parts are held in with neodymium or earth magnets which are extremely durable and will hold the nozzles short and large no issues at all.
