- “A homogeneous sheet made principally of asbestos
and high-grade rubber binder. It is the best, long-fiber crushed-rock asbestos available. The binder, which consists of
materials with high heat resistance, is extremely pliable and strong." (Can be
graphited on one or both sides if specified.) APPLICATIONS: For cutting into gaskets,
washers, or packing strips that are used for extremely high-temperature,
high-pressure joints of all types on pipelines, pumps, compressors, steam and
internal combustion engines. Recommended for temperatures as high as 700º F at
450 PSI. FEATURES: A premium grade of
compressed asbestos. High heat resistance-designed
to resist blow-out or squeeze out. Has been used successfully in service
involving hydrochloric, nitric, suphuric and acetic acids, ammonia, caustic
soda, bleaching and cyanide solutions, calcium bisulphate, alum, borax,
glycerine, soap, soda ash, blue vitriol, sodium sulphide, sal soda, fats,
gasolines and oils. Approved under Navy Specification

a high-quality binder that produces a strong yet pliable sheet with high heat
and corrosion resistance." APPLICATIONS: Used for cutting into gaskets, washers,
or packing strips for many breakable flanged joints. Recommended for
super-heated steam pressures up to 400 PSI. FEATURES: Conforms to
Navy and Federal Specifications. High protection against burning,
blowing or squeezing out. Resists oil, alkalis, acids and steam. It ages well
in both service and storage.
Style 124 Asbestos Sheet - “Made from a medium length of high-grade asbestos fiber, bonded to keep rough joints tight and tough enough to withstand high operating pressures." (Can be graphited on one or both sides if specified.) APPLICATION: An economical competitive compressed asbestos used in cutting gaskets, washers or packing strips for medium high temperatures and pressure joints on all types of fittings. FEATURES: An all-purpose sheet designed to operate against air, steam, gas and certain chemicals. Scorch-resistant, it withstands internal pressure and slippage. Furnished unbranded at a popular price. Color, yellow.

Book Condition:
The
book is in GOOD condition!! The book has moderate wear from use. There
are no locations of writing, underlining or highlighting of the
text that I could find from a cursory review. Binding is intact but the comb binding is broken and missing in some places but there are no missing pages. The pages have some minor browning due to
age. It's still a good used book with plenty of life left in it!!
