Up for sale is the vintage Sony TC-K88 slimline tray-loading stereo cassette deck with RM-50 wired remote.  This is a Japanese market version which uses 100V instead of 120V so a step down converter is highly recommended.  The TC-K88 was one of Sony's higher end cassette decks upon it's release in 1979 with a retail price of $1200 according to CassetteDeck.org.  The deck can function with the tray in the open position as well as closed.  This deck has just returned from service from local professional technician and is now in excellent working condition.  Service receipt will be provided upon request.

Cosmetically it is in good condition with some dents on the top of the face plate and bottom right edge of the loading tray (pics #1 and #2).  There is a couple of dark spots on the top of the metal cover.  Remote is in excellent cosmetic condition with only one minor line scratch to the right of the pause button sign (pic #10).

Functionally it is in excellent working condition.  As mentioned, it has just returned from the local technician in early November, 2021 and all functions have been tested by the technician and necessary adjustments made.  It has been used for both playback and record since its return with both type I and type II tapes as well as playback with prerecorded albums.  The LCD VU meter is working as it should although the fluorescent backlight takes a few seconds to warm up  when the deck is first turned on.  The wired remote is also working condition with all functions tested.  It will be packed in fitted foam and shipped via FedEx ground.
