I obtained these from storage in a multi-generational art and school supply store that closed. These vintage sets have been in storage for quite some time, and although brand new, I don't know the formulation of the ink included, or if it's shelf life (the purchase orders inside the case vary from 1987-91 making these sets 30 years old). I would assume you would probably need fresh ink in order to properly use the pens. Please do your due diligence prior to purchase
