Limoges Trinket Box

Lovely Limoges trinket/dresser box by Le Tallec. Possibly the finest maker of Limoges boxes is Le Tallec. The pink ground (the ground is the raw material used to color the porcelain) is particularly nice on Le Tallec boxes. It’s a beautiful deep shade of pink. Approximately 3 7/8”long. It is in great vintage condition. This box has date code I’m not sure about. It appears to be a K with another symbol after that. K is the 1946 code. The other symbol doesn’t fit into their standard date codes so it maybe before the standard was set. Boxes without a standard date code are from 1930-1941. Either way it’s an older box in fantastic condition. There is some gunk around the gilt rim in the back side. I scraped a bit with a finger nail and it came off. I decided to leave the rest as is. You can leave it too or take it off.

Fresh from a large collection of over 100 fine Limoges boxes from a historic coastal MA estate. The estate is called the Waldingfield in Ipswich, Massachusetts in case you’re interested in seeing it. You can easily Google the estate. Photos including ruler and jewelry are for display only and aren’t included in sale. Final listing photo shows the estates main house. Ships ASAP! Excellent holiday gift. Thanks!

I’ll be listing many other boxes and Le Tallec items in the coming weeks and months. Please check back to see more, other neat items from this estate, and items from other great New England estates. Great gifts for gents and ladies abound. I’ll happily combine shipping on multiple orders.
