1950's University of Texas Varsity Jacket

Owned by Jack Collins Jr.

This is an incredibly rare piece of Texas Longhorns History. In 1957 the 'T' jacket tradition began and Jack started at Texas in 1959. This is one of the first T jackets ever made and probably the oldest piece your will ever find. This jacket is one of the first pieces moving from bright orange to the burnt orange still used today.

Jack was the best overall offensive player in 1959 and led the team to the Cotton Bowl in 1959 and 1961. He is in the Hall of Honor.

The jacket was made for C and S Sporting Good by Sand Knit out of Wisconsin. The body is wool with white leather sleeves. The jacket is in great shape for being over 60 years old.
