This listing details two units, Airtight Tube Monaural Power Amplifier. (be sure to specify which amp you prefer if only buying one)
We think these are one of the best tube amps ever and also probably one of the best rated audio output transformers we've ever seen, we've done a really good job of servicing these units to spec.
These amplifiers are in excellent condition, they both work and sound wonderfully.
Cosmetics look great, just a few minor scuffs on the top and side covers, but otherwise these units have been very well cared for.
Units have been professionally serviced, cleaned, tested, and are both guaranteed to be in excellent working condition.
Tube biasing set calibration is very accurate and easy to do for any type of EL34.
Both units required service due to EL34 tubes overheating from use.
V4 and V6 Cathode resistors as well as V4 screen resistors on both units have also been replaced.
Also viewable in our photos is heat shrink tubing that had been applied to areas where wire insulation had slightly overheated.
Photos 1-6 are of unit #61718 and photos 6-12 are of unit #61689. Both units have 2-4 ohm and 6-8 ohm outputs.
Unit #61718 has no tubes installed. Unit #61689 has a working tube set installed, but mostly for demo purposes, however you may want to install your own set.
In the shop owners opinion, the wire harness on these units should be pulled apart to lessen the heat on the wiring inside, however we did not do this in order to leave the units as original. He also suggests to drill more holes in the bottom for ventilation and to possibly use a small fan to draft cooling.
