Cement resistors are made by winding resistance wire onto non-alkaline heat resistant porcelain parts, adding heat, moisture and corrosion resistant material outside for protection and fixing and placing the wound resistor body into a square porcelain frame and sealing it with a special non-flammable heat resistant cement filling. The outer side of the resistor is mainly made of ceramic.
Cement resistors are resistors made of cement (not cement but refractory clay, as it is commonly known), which is a non-alkaline, heat-resistant porcelain resistor wire wound around a non-alkaline, heat-, moisture- and corrosion-resistant material and placed inside a square porcelain frame and sealed with a special non-flammable, heat-resistant cement. There are two types of cement resistors: ordinary cement resistors and cement wirewound resistors. The shape of the cement resistor is shown in the diagram. Cement resistors are a type of wirewound resistor, which are higher power resistors and can allow larger currents to pass through them. It works like a normal resistor, except that it can be used in high current situations, such as in series with a motor to limit the motor starting current, and the resistance value is generally not large. Cement resistors are small in size, resistant to vibration, humidity, heat and good heat dissipation, and low in price. They are widely used in power adapters, audio equipment, audio crossovers, instruments, meters, televisions, automobiles and other equipment.
Characteristics.
1, shock resistance, humidity resistance, heat resistance and good heat dissipation, low price, etc.
2, completely insulated, suitable for printed circuit boards.
3、Winding the wire on the porcelain rod and then soldering the connector, to produce accurate resistance value and extend the life.
4、High resistance value is made by using metal oxide film (MO) instead of wire winding.
5、Excellent heat resistance, small resistance temperature coefficient, linear change.
6、Resistant to short time overload, low noise, no change in resistance value over the years.
7、Good explosion-proof performance, play a protective role.
Uses.
Cement resistors are usually used in high power, high current occasions, there are 2W, 3W, 5W, 10W or even greater power, like air conditioners, televisions, and other power in more than 100 watts of electrical appliances, basically will be used in cement resistors.
