ULTIMA 1909

Ultima typewriter, manufactured in 1909 approx. by Justin Bamberger and Schreibmaschinenwerke Deutsches, Munich, Germany

This "Ultima" model is the same as its predecessor "Helios", differing only in the trade name. In 1909 the Kanzler company formed the company Helios Schreibmaschinen GmbH and in 1914 changed the name of the machine to Helios-Klimax, which is the same as the Ultima and the Helios except for the distribution of the 3 keys of the capitalization mechanism that went to be on the keyboard

The printing mechanism was a cylinder with four rows of characters, a total of 21 keys in two rows on the keyboard, which allowed writing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and signs. The Ultima machine is rarer than Helios or Helios Klimax, fewer copies were made and it is not easy to find one today.

Made of cast iron and enamelled in gloss black. Machine with a reduced format and low weight, moving away from the large office models.

It is in very good condition and works properly.
