MIGNON Nº2B YEAR 1913

Antique Mignon Nº2B typewriter, made in Germany around 1913, by AEG, Allgemeine Clektrizitats Gesellshaf Company.

The Mignon Nº2B model is a hybrid between the Nº2 and Nº3 models. It has the chassis of Nº2 and the cover that covers the mechanism of Nº3. It is a very rare model since only 3,000 machines of this model were manufactured and currently only a handful of them are preserved, in addition its state of conservation is very good and it works correctly. It doesn't have the case.

The operation is simple, all the characters are arranged on a cartouche (this varies depending on the language) and with a rod the desired one is chosen. With the button on the right the character is fixed to the paper and the left is the space. This machine allowed to reach a speed of at least 100 blows per minute.

There are several models of Mignon. There is only one copy of Nº1 in a museum in Germany. The Nº2 in red (very rare) and the Nº2 in black manufactured between 1904 and 1913. The Nº2B manufactured around 1913 with a circulation of 3,000 units. Nº3 manufactured between 1914 and 1924 and Nº4 manufactured between 1924 and 1936. These last two machines are the same and only differ in one key, but Nº3 is much rarer and comes with a metal case instead of a wooden one.
