For auction is a prototype Leitz 2x tele-converter for use with Leitz R lenses. This prototype was produced, I believe, in the mid-to-late 1970's by Ernst Leitz GmbH in Wetzlar Germany. As you can see this prototype is a very early version and was made using existing extension tubes with the optics cemented inside.
This is a rare and unusual look into Leitz design work of the 1970's.
