This is an absolutely breathtaking crystal wine glass. This wine glass is the rare Crown Sapphire Wine Hock wine glass line made by Wedgwood in the the 1990s.

This elegant crystal wine glass was hand made using a technique known as "Color Cut To Clear", a process in which a thin layer of colored glass (sapphire blue, in this case), is applied and cased over the clear hand blown crystal wine glass. A skilled artist then expertly cuts away the cased colored glass to reveal the clear crystal underneath making intricate, artistic hand cut designs in the crystal glass.

This particular crystal cut to clear wine glass features a hand blown clear glass which has been cased with sapphire cobalt blue glass. The hand cut designs in the cup portion are stunning and feature an intricate lattice cut design on the bottom of the cup. This is followed by a band of thumbprint style cuts around the bottom 1/3 of the cup, Above these oval thumbprint cut designs is a single thin line/band. Above this thin band is another band of patterns of different intricately cut designs, including s semi flower petal design, a circle, and finally a clover design. Above this band is another thin line/band.

The Stem is a clear, gorgeous, diamond shape which is multi-faceted and bevels at the very bottom where it attaches to the base. Wedgwood Is etched on the outer edge of the base and the glass has the original sticker which reads "WEDGWOOD CRYSTAL GERMANY".

This glass is in excellent condition with no nicks, cracks, chips, scratches, or any other damage.

It measures 8.25" tall, has a 3" diameter base, and a 3" diameter rim. It hold approximately 7 ounces.
