ROBERT INDIANA (1928-2018) SIGNED ARCHIVE OF 8 “LOVE” ITEMS, "R. Indiana" and “Bob”,   the archive includes an Indiana Museum of Art serigraph card of his “LOVE 1966” signed with a sketch of a large star beneath which he writes “The Star of Hope Vinalhaven, LOVE, R. Indiana”; two, 12.5 x 6.5, 1968 “NOEL” offset lithograph cards (that artistically spell “LOVE” backwards), one signed with the star sketch “Star of HOPE Vinalhaven LOVE, R. Indiana ‘16” and the other “18 XII ’68 For Michael & Patricia Seon, Greeting From The Bowery, R. Indiana (he lived in New York City at the time) small tear at bottom edge; a handwritten letter signed “R. Indiana”, on a photo postcard, 6 x 4.25, of his 1970 Cor-ten steel “LOVE” sculpture, his letter mentions “My first monumental LOVE sculpture in my old home town – Don’t get back often – I lived in 21 different houses there….”; another handwritten letter signed “R. Indiana”, on an offset lithograph card, 7.75 x 3.75, Vinalhaven, 18 XII 86, to Mr. & Mrs. Love – “Wonder if your mailbox has survived all those hard Indiana winters”; a “Classic Earth LOVE” card, 5.5 x 5.5, “2009, A HAPPY NEW YEAR & A FULL ALPHABE (he intentionally omits the final “T”) LOVE, Bob” (comes with a photo of Indiana standing in front of his “Alphabet” art; a “Baby Love”card, 5.5 x 5.5, “NOEL” Bob (with an original photograph of his “INDIANA” sculpture; an original photo of him, as Santa Claus, standing next to a LOVE sculpture, “Star of HOPE Vinalhaven 2006 LOVE, Bob. This amazing archive of eight hand-signed “LOVE” items is in fine condition. 

Robert Indiana is a major figure in the development of Pop art in the 1960s and is best known for his iconic LOVEseries of sculptures and prints, which rank among the most recognizable images in postwar art. Indiana's work is in the collections of numerous major museums and institutions, and versions of his outdoor LOVE sculptures can be seen in cities worldwide, including New York, Hong Kong, Istanbul, and Montreal.
