Born the son of a clown, Red Skelton followed in his father's footsteps by making a living through telling jokes. This compilation pays tribute to vaudeville-trained funnyman by gathering many of his most memorable appearances. From 1951-1971, THE RED SKELTON SHOW showcased the zany comic stylings of its carrot-topped star, whose talent for improv in the face of unexpected flubs lent the series much of its charm. AMERICA'S GREATEST CLOWN features several episodes of this legendary comic variety show, in addition to many other clips of Skelton performing his best-loved characters such as: Clem Kadiddlehopper, Cauliflower McPugg, Deadeye, Freddie the Freeloader, and San Fernando Red among others.
