Nantucket Poison Swingtail Jigs are made in New England. They've been tried and tested on Cape Cod by both recreational fishermen and charter boat captains alike. These lightweight, 1/2-ounce jigs are handmade with an overall weight of 1.2 oz including the 8" tail and the skirt. They feature a heavy-duty 8″ grub tail and a full colorful skirt. Each jig is equipped with a large, 4X strong, 7/0 Octopus hook that actually swings giving your lure incredible action and a perfect presentation to attract all kinds of bottom fish especially, Black Sea Bass and Fluke. The Cod and Haddock will hit them as well when you use them as a teaser above a heavier jig.
You’ll find that the heavy-duty 8″ grubs will last a long time but just in case, each jig comes with a replacement 8″ grub. We also sell replacement grubs in four packs available in all four colors. Check our listings for more information.
We recommend that you use Nantucket Poison Swingtail Jigs in a high/low setup. Use two swing tail jigs, one above the other with 12 to 18″ between them. Then add a heavy enough weight at the end of your setup with enough weight to keep your rig on the bottom as you drift over the ocean floor.
Tip the hooks with a piece of fresh squid, a strip of fluke belly, or your favorite bait for scent. Gently bounce the jig up and down off the ocean floor. Then hang on! The black sea bass won’t nibble on these jigs, they inhale them. You’ll find that you get a lot of double hookups.
These jigs will work well anywhere you find Black Sea Bass including New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and all over Cape Cod, including Buzzard's Bay, Cape Cod Bay, and south of the Cape. Nantucket Swingtail Jigs will attract almost any bottom feeding predatory species.
