Super cool steampunk, genuine antique top-quality stove pipe top hat!

Authentic vintage 18th or 19th century French-Belgian jet black beaver felt top hat 🎩 with piping and silk and doe skin interior, marked with maker’s mark and French inscription reading: “Manufactured Expressly for E. Dombret, 3 Rue du pont, et 87 Rue Emile Cuvalier, Namur” with a button containing the letter G. (This address is in an ancient riverfront fortress town in the Wallonia area of Belgium)

Complete with embossed leather travel case featuring a gracefully dished lid and brass hardware fittings including locking clasp (nonfunctional), rivets and buckles and an arched leather carry handle. Interior is silk and white cotton ticking with pale blue stripes. Underside of hinges lid shows old owners’ initials on the silk.

The hat is extremely good condition with minor wear on one edge. Leather band is clean. Case is in very good condition, especially considering its age, and shows evidence of its many long adventurous journeys; minor nicks, scratches, shrunken locking strap, 2 side straps broken at bend.

Inside dimensions are approximately 7.25” x 6.12 and it is about 5.25” tall inside. The inside circumference looks to be about 21.5 inches. (Note: this item was cancelled due to an error where eBay’s posting format auto-populated the size as 7-1/4 but based on the actual circumference measurement, it should be about a size 6-7/8, as noted here as relisted— apologies to the 356 viewers and interested eBayers )

Looks badass on men, women, all creatures- unisex, bisexual, doms, subs, etc. Everyone makes an unforgettable entrance in a top hat!

An excellent collectible decor, theatrical production, costume, museum, or general natty apparel and party item. Look your best! Stand out from the zombies.

I am not sure of shipping cost, so do your research. I estimate the weight to be less than 5 pounds including packaging. The item itself is roughly 13 x 12 x 10”
