Abolition

Slavery

Jews

1736

Original 1736 volume, beautiful newish spine over original marbled boards, quite handsome. Much on slavery and abolition with far too much being of the tone - well yes slavery is awful BUT have you considered what would happen without it set up just the way it is? Also, East-India Company East India trade, Jamaica its sad condition, Gunpowder Plot,  Gin Act, Gin Shops, Jesuits, Jews, Judaica, Jewish Travelers writing Letters, Jewish suffering in Persia, Venice, Venitians, quite a bit on Spirituous Liquors, Alcohol, Spirits,  much on the Prince of Wales, Turks and Russians, Stamp Duties, South Sea Company, Rome and Romans, Jesuits, Quakers, Gaming/Gambling, &c. &c. 742pp. plus index, three leaves bound in as facsimiles (p.719-p.724), age-toned but rather clean within. Scarce early volume
