Additional information

This is an exceptional example of a 1900’s – 1910’s Waterman 42 ½ V black  hardrubber pen with a solid gold overlay.

I believe that the pen was manufactured by Waterman’s in the USA and then reworked by the French Waterman subsidiary (JIF) in France to for the overlay with the French hallmarks for solid gold (Eagle head). Note also the marking: LEW IDEAL (for Lewis Edson Waterman)

The #2 nib is perfect, with a very nice flex.

The pictures are self-explanatory.

The pen itself is in exceptional condition: No scratches, dings, blemish or cracks.
