Large Victorian winder, extending, solid oak, hand carved dining table.

This is a substantial, heavy and solid oak Victorian dining table. The legs are chunky and fatter then most, it is wider than most and the top and extending leaves are made from solid oak. The carving has been done by hand and it has the original winder mechanism, winder handle and castors. The internal workings are solid mahogany and steel.

The table extends by winding the handle which operates an internal mechanism that pushes the table apart to allow the insertion of the 2 additional oak leaves. The table can extend to up to 3 metres and additional leaves could be made for your chosen length. I don’t offer that service.

The table has been sand blasted to remove the original dark brown varnish and then lightly sanded to leave the oak grain open. The final finish is your choice of clear wax, to look the same as it does but to provide protection and a soft sheen finish. Liming wax to either just the base and or the top to provide a bleached oak look. Finally a durable lacquer that will look like a matt varnish finish.

It measures 136cm x 139cm and extended measures 136cm x 193cm. The 2 extending leaves measuring 27cm each.
