The Boeing 757-200 was the original version of this aircraft. It first entered service with Eastern Airlines in 1983. Although designed for short and medium length routes, the 757-200 has since been used in a variety of roles, ranging from high frequency shuttle services to transatlantic routes. A total of 1,049 Boeing 757's of various versions have been delivered. 

American Trans Air (ATA) airlines was a United States low cost, scheduled service and charter airlines based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The airline was founded in February of 1973 as Ambassadair. The airline ended operations in April of 2008. The airline had 29 aircraft in service with ten of those Boeing 757-200 and 757-300 series aircraft.

This ATA Boeing 757-200 with registration number N520AT had its maiden flight on 21 July 1998. It was delivered to ATA on 31 July, 1998. The aircraft was painted in ANA's 25th anniversary scheme celebrated in 1998. This aircraft then went through multiple owners ending up with DHL Air Austria in November of 2021 where it is still in service.
