Historical Cufflinks
Historical luxury cufflinks military remembrance Queen Victoria, King’s
Regiment of Light Infantry (Bucks Volunteers)
Anglo-Afghan War (1878-80) Commemorative Cufflinks
These are a beautiful pair of cufflinks
made with genuine British King’s Regiment of Light Infantry (Bucks Volunteers) buttons
(Queen Victoria) from the era of the Second Afghan War 1878-80, around 140
years ago. This pair of cufflinks is
made from stunning two-part gilt officers’ buttons. The King’s Regiment of Light Infantry was recruited
from Buckinghamshire and traces its roots back to 1793. In 1881 it was amalgamated and became the
King’s Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI).
They served with distinction on the North-West Frontier during the Second
Anglo-Afghan War. The cufflinks are made
with a swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel. They are made using small mess dress
waistcoat buttons, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 16 mm in diameter.
These very rare waistcoat buttons
represent a unique part of British military history. The two-part gilt buttons have been beautifully
cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately
140 years old, whilst highlighting the details of these original buttons.
This is a truly unique gift and a
chance to own a small piece of Victorian history lovingly restored and made into
a beautiful pair of cufflinks. They are
presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the
perfect present.
