2023 Collector's edition non-circulated Set -- 6  coins

Celebrating Queen Elizabeth's 70 year reign - transition obverse

Pristine quality!!!  Direct from the mint

Each year the Royal Canadian mint puts out prooflike or brilliant uncirculated sets.  This 6 coin set is a special collector's edition set in the same vein, but since the Queen has died and there are not yet coins ready with a King Charles effigy, for 2023 the RCM has minted these coins as NON-circulating collector coins and they have a "transition obverse".   The unique obverse features a double date of 1952-2022 (symbolizing the Queen's 70 yr reign) and a diamond arrangement of 4 dots between the two dates and they each represent one of the 4 Queen effigies used on our coins from 1952 - 2022.

Exceptionally for 2023, this set is a rare opportunity to see the classic Canadian coin designs you know and love, stamped with this year’s date (“2023”) in a non-circulation version. As we focus our attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, we struck a limited collector’s edition for each of the six Canadian coin denominations ($2, $1, 50¢, 25¢, 10¢, 5¢), and you get one of each in this special set.

These six 2023-dated coins are non-circulation coins: they are collector exclusives that are not intended for circulation. Packaged in a royal purple folder that pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, these extraordinary collectibles form an ideal set for those who collect Canada’s coins from year to year, as we mark the end of a reign—and the end of an era in Canadian coins.
