An all-original design by Shin Suzuki

Amp and pedal builder Shin Suzuki earned worldwide acclaim for his Shin-Juku Drive, which put a legendary amp sound in a compact MXR pedal. Many guitarists at Sweetwater are big fans of that pedal, which is why we were so excited to see that Suzuki-san crafted entirely new circuits for the CSP037 Raijin Drive pedal. Both the overdrive and distortion channels were designed from scratch, tapping into the character of classic dirt tones while retaining its own powerful voice.

Original Drive and Distortion Circuits from Shin Suzuki

Featuring switchable overdrive or distortion modes, the MXR CSP037 Raijin Drive delivers impressive sonic versatility. And because it's designed by the acclaimed pedal builder Shin Suzuki, you can be sure it's crafted with love all the way through. So how does it sound? MXR says "the overdrive signal is smooth, fat, and wide open while the distortion signal packs an aggressive, harmonically rich punch with just enough gain to get good and heavy." Take a listen, and we think you'll agree — the MXR CSP037 Raijin Drive combines legendary drive tones with an ultra-flexible set of controls.
