●The origin of the Tozaburo kiln
Bishu Tokugawa family official kiln
In February, Keicho 15, during the time of the 19th Karasaburo Kagesada KATO, he was summoned as an official kiln and served as a purveyor.
On this occasion, he was allowed to adopt a surname and wear a sword, and was given land such as a residence, a kiln, and a factory.
He also built a kiln in the castle town of Owari, where he could study Niwa-yaki. This is commonly called Gofukaiyaki.
Thereafter, the family received Okaka 15 koku for generations in Akatsu. From this point onward, the domain will continue to serve for generations until it is abolished.
●Kiseto : It is one of the major styles produced by Mino ware in the Momoyama period.
Ki-seto literally means Seto ware covered with yellow glaze, but Mino-yaki ware, which has an adjacent kiln, was widely understood as Seto ware in Kyoto during the Momoyama period, so even if it was produced by Mino-yaki, it was probably named Ki-seto.
Ki-Seto was based on the glaze method that traced the lineage of ash-glaze, which was an important glaze technique in medieval Seto-yaki pottery, and its product vessels were also characterized by the fact that, like Seto, they were based on Chinese ceramics.
