A wonderful vintage wooden jigsaw puzzle made by the Swiss maker Penelope entitled 'Evening Sun, San Remo'. Their puzzles were retailed by Harrods in the 1960's.

There are 2000 plywood pieces cut into the most remarkable interlocking style. The image is taken from a painting by Guglielmo Welters the renowned Italian seascape artist. An extremely challenging puzzle to complete, you will need plenty of time.

The jigsaw is in good condition however, one piece has been replaced (see 7th photo). One piece has a small area of the uppermost ply missing (see 8th photo). There are a few broken pieces which is not surprising when you see how finely cut they are. The box is in excellent condition for its age with no split corners.
