Napoleonic Wars (1793 - 1814) Commemorative Cufflinks

These are a truly beautiful pair of cufflinks made with British Queen Victoria Military General Service Medal (1847) miniatures.  The medal ribbons have ‘Badajoz’ clasps; awarded for action at the Siege of Badajoz, Spain, in 1812 during the Napoleonic Wars.  The Military GSM was unusual in being commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1847 but awarded for various military actions between 1793 – 1814.  The pair of cufflinks are made from two antiqued silver  miniature medals showing the obverse (Queen’s head) and the ‘Badajoz’ clasp.  The medal was awarded to surviving claimants and so only around 26000 were awarded.  The cufflinks are made with a swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel and are 18 mm in diameter.

They represent a unique part of history and the beautiful miniature medals, ribbons and clasps have been carefully cleaned and mounted to retain some of the original character of the medals, whilst highlighting the beautiful details of these medals.

This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of Georgian/Victorian and military history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks.  They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
