"Zakhar Berkut" is a Ukrainian historical action-drama directed by Akhtem Seitablayev, based on the novel of the same name by Ivan Franko.
1241 year. The Mongol horde, led by Khan Burunda, moves west, destroying everything in its path. Having reached the high Carpathian Mountains, the army stops at the foot. However, at night, several local hunters - the Berkuta brothers - sneak into the camp and free the prisoners. Enraged with rage, the khan decides to go straight to take revenge and destroy the Carpathian settlements. To do this, he finds a traitor among the locals, who reveals to him a secret passage in the mountains. However, a small community of mountain hunters under the leadership of Zakhar Berkut has a plan to stop the numerous enemy forever.
More than 1,000 original costumes were created for the filming of the film, which is more than 3,000 pieces of clothing. Up to 40 masters worked on the project, researching historical clothing and creating costumes, they were helped by craftsmen from all over Ukraine.
This project is dedicated to popularizing the creativity and ideas of the Ukrainian classicist Ivan Franko not only in Ukraine, but also in the world.
