This is a VERY cool BARGAIN collection of Japan-issued promotional items for the cinema (and DVD) release of various The FAST & the FURIOUS films in Japan.
As can be seen in the pictures there are TEN DIFFERENT "chirashi" (see below for more details) mini-posters for various Fast and Furious films... most, if not all are also available in individual film sets (see other listings) with more / different items added to each individual film's set.
Also included are three bonus items for 2 Fast 2 Furious (the top left of the first / main picture). Two DVD promo things and a discount ticket for that film (from 2003!).
This package includes the mini-poster for the 2003 DVD release of the first film (available alone at $9.99 - see other listings) and both mini-posters (plus those three bonus pieces) for 2 Fast 2 Furious (also available as a separate set)... and more!
CHIRASHI...
In Japan, these flyers are known as chirashi, and they are distributed by Japanese film companies, usually in cinemas but also in other locations sometimes, to promote forthcoming films. Often, especially for a film that is expected to be popular, there are two different chirashi created for each film. The earlier version, sometimes released literally months in advance of the opening of the film, is designed to raise awareness. This is often followed by a second version, distributed closer to the film's actual Japanese release date. In rare cases there are more than two types, but it is quite unusual.
Some of these flyers are VERY limited, others readily available in many locations, but all are the same - when it comes to the release date of the film, all chirashi are returned to the film companies, or destroyed.
All chirashi measure approximately 19cm x 26cm, and often feature unique graphics and great Japanese text and logos unseen by foreign audiences. Great for framing, they can make inexpensive little masterpieces on your walls, or an economical and interesting collection, that is easy to store!
