Samuel Eastman BL40 Violin/Cello Bow

Professional Brazilwood  bow. Feature octagonal stick of selected brazilwood hand crafted and carefully balanced for playability and tone. Fitted with fully nickel-mounted ebony frogs and leather and imitation whalebone grips.

Materials: Hand-crafted octagonal stick of select brazilwood

Frog: Nickel-mounted ebony frog with mother -of-pearl slide and Parisian eye

Lapping: Imitation whalebone

Grip: Genuine leather grip 

Hair: Genuine unbleached Mongolian horsehair


Nice looking frog that has the mother of pearl cateyes and the bottom in place. S. Eastman on the shaft above the frog.  Back of frog appears to be brass.  The bow still has a great finish on it.  Good camber.  Strong flex to the shaft and we can ascertain no warping, splits or repairs to report to you.  Nice silver wire black colored tape winding on the bow.


The adjuster screw has a silver colored metal and ebony adjuster screw.  Has a mother of pearl end.


Nice mother of pearl inlays on the sides of the frog and along the bottom.  Silver colored end screw with ebony middle.  The bow is 28.25" long.  The bow weighs 2.0 ounces with the horse hair.  Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
