My Camera on Point Lobos

My Camera on Point Lobos. Photographs by Edward Weston. Introduction by Dody Weston Thompson. Da Capo Press, New York, 1968. This is an unabridged republication of the first edition published in 1950. 81 pages. Folio. Hardcover. Clothbound in photo-illustrated dust jacket. Black-and-white reproductions.

This publication has been cited as an elegant 1968 re-issue of Edward Weston's 1950 photographic tribute to Point Lobos, a wild and untouched stretch of the California coast. Every attempt was made to replicate the gorgeously rich reproductions.

Lovely 30 black-and-white reproductions along the rectos.

"I am not a reformer, a missionary, a propagandist. I have one clear way to give, to justify myself as part of the whole--through my work. Here in Carmel I can work, and from here I send out the best of my life, focused onto a few sheets of silvered paper"--Edward Weston, from his Daybook, March, 1931

Very good in a very good dust jacket. The boards have light wear. Silver lettering still very bright with no chipping. Little soiling. Internally, hinges sound. Binding tight. Tanning to page edges. Spectacular photographs which are beautifully printed. The dust jacket has light wear. Crease to the DJ top edge. Few scratches. Tanning to the edges. Little edgewear. Not price clipped. One of the best copies seen to date.
