Pacific Stoneware was a pottery manufacturer in Oregon in the United States. It was produced from 1890-1986. It was purchased by pottery artisan Bennet Welsh in 1960, and it was under his leadership between the 1960s and early 1970s that beautiful artistic and colorful homewares, such as the sunflower casserole dishes, were produced.

This particular Pacific Stoneware dutch oven casserole dish I am selling was handmade before 1973 and features an intricately textured and colorfully glazed sunflower. The lid has many textured sunflower petals and seeds and includes rustic shades of orange, yellow, green, and red. The Middle of the lid has a round handle which was made to look like the center of the sunflower. The pot is a glazed rustic orange and has two handles, which were made to look like part of the sunflower. The bottom of the pot was left unglazed and is incised with "Pacific Stoneware U.S.A. B Welsh".

This item is in great condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches.

It measures 12.5" across from handle to handle, has a 9.5" rim diameter, is 3.5" deep without the lid, and is 6.5" tall with the lid.
