Hummel "The Wanderers" is a Limited Edition set of figurines that was produced to celebrate the Millenium. It was released in 1999 and was limited to 2,000 sets. This Hummel Millenium Set is the version that was produced exclusively for North America. (Note : Other versions based on the same theme were produced for other markets.) At the time of its release the Millenium Set retailed for an issue price of $1,250 and currently lists for $1400.00. It measures 8.5" H, 10.75"L and 9.5"W. The is numbered out of 2,000, and the number is inscribed on the brass plate which appears on the front of the tiered black wooden base. The Set consists of a black wooden tiered stand, a lead crystal globe, five Hummel figurines representing five of the world's continents and a ceramic identification tag. The figurines are titled "African Wanderer," "Australian Wanderer," "American Wanderer," "European Wanderer" and "Asian Wanderer." The ceramic plaque reads "MILLENIUM The Wanderers Gemeinsam un die Welt Special Edition M.I.Hummel Goebel."
