Wreathed head of Caesar, right., Venus Victrix seated right, holding Victory in her outstretched right hand, transverse scepter in left., Graded NGC Ch XF Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5, bankers mark. Julius Caesar, as Dictator Perpetuo (ca. February-March 44 BC), with Lucius Aemilius Buca, as moneyer. Bankers mark mentioned by NGC, but very discreet. Beautiful iridescent toning. Banker's mark mentioned by NGC, but very faint. Magnificent iridescent hue. Struck very shortly before his assassination on 15 March 44 BC, on the Ides of March, since the Senate granted him the title of perpetual dictator on 14 February, 1 month before his death.
