Synopsis:

No Deadly Secret
S3, Ep1 Sep. 16, 1977
A friend of Quincy's escapes captivity and torture and runs to Quincy's boat, but keels over and dies before Quincy can reach him. Quincy loads the man into his official car and takes him to the hospital, where he performs an autopsy on him with no witnesses. The autopsy reveals the man was savagely beaten in the stomach and died of internal hemorrhaging. But when Quincy returns the next day to the morgue, the man's body has been stolen, along with all of the records except for Quincy's tape-recorded comments while performing the autopsy. Quincy begins to suspect that...

A Blow to the Head... A Blow to the Heart

When a boxer dies after being in a match, his trainer is being accused of not taking care of him. Quincy discovers there's more going on. And his opponent in the match is dating his sister and her mother is blaming him for her son's death.

A Dead Man's Truth
S3, Ep3 Sep. 30, 1977
A young cop in the mist of inexperience decides to plant a gun on a victim that he had shot from 30 feet away. At first Quincy doubts the officers story but then finds out that not everything he has said was a lie. Through his investigative techniques, he finds out that the '30 feet away' part of the officers story is true and he is set to prove it.

A Question of Time
S3, Ep4 Oct. 14, 1977
The body of a man is discovered at a health spa. Quincy is convinced that the owner's of the spa are responsible for his death. Not only does he need to prove their guilt, but he also must determine the exact time of death so that the victim's widow will rightfully receive his life insurance benefits.

Death Casts a Vote
S3, Ep5 Oct. 21, 1977
The body of a man is discovered in his car in his garage, apparently a result of suicide. As a result of Quincy's investigation, it is revealed that this was not a suicide, but a homicide meant to look like a suicide. Further investigation by Quincy leads him into a quagmire of union forces, mob bosses, and illegal immigrants - many with possible motives for murder.

Quincy races against time and a dwindling oxygen supply to locate a kidnap victim's underground prison after the boy's abductor is killed in a car accident.

Holding Pattern

A hijacked plane lands at LAX, complete with terrorists making demands. Also on board is a deadly virus, which threatens everyone on board, including the perpetrators. Quincy must find an antidote, while maintaining the trust of the hijackers, before it's too late.

Main Man
S3, Ep8 Nov. 11, 1977
A talented high school football player dies on the field from a genetic brain tumor. His younger brother is also a talented athlete, and making a name for himself on the team as well. Quincy must convince the boy's father to pull him from the championship game to prevent another possible tragedy, at least until thorough testing can be completed. Quincy not only finds resistance from the father, but from every one of the team's coaches and players.

The Hero Syndrome
S3, Ep9 Nov. 18, 1977
The body of a tough-guy loan shark is found brutally murdered on the docks. A young loner is falsely accused of the crime, but accepts the blame because he's made to look like a hero in front of his co-workers. Quincy eventually realizes the boy is innocent, but has a hard time convincing him to retract his confession due to the sudden hero-status bequeathed on him. Quincy must defend him in court to prove his innocence, despite the fact that the defendant does not wish to be defended.

Touch of Death

Sam's cousin Tad Kimura is a rising young star in the genre of martial arts pictures. Unfortunately, he dies unexpectedly while filming his latest motion picture. Quincy prepares to perform an autopsy on the body, but it is taken before he can perform the procedure. The reason is that due to strict Buddhist beliefs, the body can't be autopsied. Quincy agrees to do an external examination, but when several questions still persist he decides to go ahead with the autopsy, which causes not only conflict within the Japanese community, but also puts a strain on his close ...

The Deadly Connection
S3, Ep11 Dec. 9, 1977
Quincy is sent to a small rural community in Arizona to determine the cause of a deadly outbreak. Several of the town's residents become gravely ill with similar symptoms, but the local doctors are unable to find a cause. Quincy discovers the cause, but also finds a cover-up at the corporate level. It's a race for time to uncover the culprits, as well as deliver the antidote while fighting the resistance of the hospital's top administrator.

Last of the Dinosaurs

Quincy's favorite movie star suddenly dies. While the case appears to be an open and shut natural death, Quincy soon discovers inconsistencies in not only the autopsy, but with witness statements, leading to a conclusion of murder. Along the way, he discovers that his hero was hiding a secret from the public about his health.

Woman comes home, interrupts a burglar, ends up dead. Quincy determines cause of death from another source. Storyline develops around subject of spouse abuse.

Matters of Life and Death
S3, Ep14 Jan. 20, 1978
Quincy's hot temper and tenseness leads him to be sent to a small town, to get away from the stress of the city, working in the capacity of the town doctor. On his first night in town, he stumbles across what appears to be a fatal drunk driving accident. What he discovers is sloppy autopsy work and lackadaisical procedures from the town's police chief, doctor, and mortician, leading him to reopen the case so that the victim's widow will receive life insurance benefits.

Passing
S3, Ep15 Jan. 27, 1978
While returning from a coroners convention, Quincy and Sam find a human skull in the desert. They immediately hire a forensic artist to use it to try to identify it. Eventually, they discover that the skull belonged to a missing labor leader. Soon, his main rival finds out and he and his goons threaten to stop Quincy by hurting the artist as well as Astin. Also, as the investigation goes on, Quincy discovers a hidden secret the man had that may have been the reason for his killing.

Crib Job
S3, Ep16 Feb. 3, 1978
A teenager with a record is accused of murdering an elderly man. The teen happened to belong to a group run by Quincy's friend, former pro-football great Rosie Grier. Rosie asks Quincy not only to help clear the teen, but to help save the organization he runs, Giant Step, which helps to bring teens and the elderly together.

Ashes to Ashes
S3, Ep17 Feb. 10, 1978
A young woman dies suddenly at a bar, and Quincy's autopsy shows her death was a result of a heart condition. However, Quincy doesn't believe the woman's husband is as devastated by her death as he should be, and becomes suspicious of his behavior. Further investigation leads him to the sister of a former wife, who also died before her time. The man is preparing to marry a third woman, and move to Brazil to avoid being expedition back to the US. Can Quincy find the true cause of death before the suspect leaves the country?

Gone But Not Forgotten
S3, Ep18 Feb. 17, 1978
Nothing is adding up for Quincy in this episode. A prominent CEO is found apparently murdered in his office, and a suspect with a motive is in custody. However, the autopsy is uncovering some very strange test results, and every lead that Quincy follows seems to happen 9 years in the past. Quincy eventually is able to tie things together, and discovers an extensive murder plot that was 9 years in the making.

Quincy and Sam are on their way to their weekly poker game with Astin, Monahan, Brill, Ed and Danny when they are accosted by a prominent mob boss who only has 24 hours to live. He suspects he was poisoned by his rivals and orders Quincy to perform an autopsy on him while he is still living and to find out where he was poisoned. If Quincy refuses, he and Sam will be killed.

Quincy and Sam are working as Coroners. Inspecting dead people they often see facts that don't match the theories of the police how or if really they were murdered.
