This is an original silk map (circa 1950s) issued by the British War Office near the start of the Cold War. It is not a reproduction. It is a double-sided color map that not only shows a strategic portion of Asia, Europe and the Middle East as a modified polyconic projection of the international map of the world, it also provides information on transportation lines and natural obstructions, as well as conversion tables and local language references. Scale is 1:1,000,000.
