Thousands of tiny glass beads were carefully woven together to form this exquisitely patterned silver and green colored beaded evening bag with a beaded drawstring closure and twisted fringe. With approximately 400 minuscule beads per inch, this fragile bag was a labor of love, estimated to be French made around 1900 to 1920. This bag measures approximately 5-3/4 inches tall to the bottom center point and 5-3/4 inches wide with a 2 inch twisted fringe. The interior is unlined. Due to the advanced age and extremely fragile nature of this piece, this item is offered as-is for display purposes only. The beaded drawstring and the beads surrounding the drawstring's slots are extremely delicate, with thread damage and bead loss both here and in the fringe; the drawstring is severed in one spot. Though the body is in great condition for its age beads do come loose; careful display and minimal gentle handling is recommended with this beautiful piece of antique art. Sometimes, depending on your location, Priority Mail is feasible at the amount paid, in which case your item will be shipped that way. If you feel the shipping charge is too high, contact me prior to bidding, and I may be able to make an adjustment. If you would like your item shipped by another method (UPS, FedEx, etc), contact me and I will try to accommodate your request. We are happy to combine items to reduce shipping when it doesn't compromise the safety of the items being shipped. Handling:
Each item is carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival at its destination. With the cost of boxes, bubble wrap, peanuts, tape, etc., I often spend more on shipping/handling than the buyer is charged. I usually ship within two business days of the close of auction. I will notify you if it will run later than that for any reason.
