Broadway Nights, the 1927 Joseph C. Boyle silent New York City theater stage acting romantic gambling melodrama ("From the original story by Norman Houston"; about a pretty young singer/dancer who gets hooked up with a handsome young emcee, who has a serious gambling problem, and they get married and have a kid, but he loses all their money gambling, and she leaves him to take a performing job, but her career flops until she finds a great new show, which, oddly enough, her estranged husband wrote the music for!; an interesting oddity of this movie is that the producers hired real life chorus girls and the real Texas Guinan to play themselves in the movie, including three great future stars in their first appearance, and it makes me desperately wish I could see the set of lobby cards!) starring Lois Wilson, Sam Hardy, Louis John Bartels, Phillip Strange, Sylvia SidneyBarbara Stanwyck (she was a 20 year old chorus girl in New York, and like Sidney, she had a bit part here as a fan dancer, and it wasn't until two years later that she had her first real movie role!), and Ann Sothern (she was 18 years old, and like Sidney, she had a bit part here as a fan dancer, her first movie appearance!). Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: What a wonderful discovery this still is! It has a wonderful wacky image of most of the cast on stage in weird costumes with a great set backdrop, but what makes it SO special is that it has a great image of Barbara Stanwyck, who, as noted above, was just 20 years old, and working as a chorus girl in New York, and she got a bit part in this movie as a fan dancer, and it was two years later that she got her first real role! Ann Sothern and Sylvia Sidney had similar bit parts, but we can't spot them in this still.

Due to the Ultra Rareness of this photo it will be insured for full value with signature. Thanks

GRADING: We use comic book grading standards, as defined by Overstreet and Comic Guarantee Corp., for grading all of our paper collectibles.   These strict standards are well-developed and widely accepted.  The various grades we use are generally applied as follows:

Near Mint - item is bright and clean, virtually defect-free and appears "like new"... image is sharp... any defects would be barely perceptible and only visible upon close inspection.

Very Fine / Near Mint - at first glance appears near mint but upon close inspection very minor degradation or one or two very small defects become apparent.

Very Fine - generally clean and bright and still high grade and desirable but may have a few small defects (e.g., minor corner crease, light bend, subtle image degradation, etc.).

Fine - average grade... nice collectible item but defects are more noticeable and apparent.. may have some soiling or image issues.

Very Good - lower grade... wear and tear is readily apparent... item is still complete though.

Good -  low grade... heavy defects... could be a piece missing from a corner or a major tear.

Fair or poor - the lowest grades... we generally only offer items in this condition if they are hard to find.
