The best English George I burl walnut secretary bureau bookcase in two sections. The upper arched top portion with a molded and domed cornice inset with mirrored glass and etched with a sunburst. The two doors with original mirrored glass open to reveal a wonderful arrangement of concave cupboard shelves and bow front drawers. The lower section with a fall front lid opens to reveal a shaped and fitted interior with additional drawers and storage spaces including a slide that opens to reveal three hidden compartments sunk into the frieze of the base. The center pigeonhole section releases and slides out to reveal a hidden series of three more drawers. The entirety of this supported by a case section of five drawers below with original brass bat pulls: shaped apron and tall bracket feet.
