HEMINGWAY’S HANDWRITTEN AND BOLDLY SIGNED LETTER FRAGMENT, WITH THE ADDRESS OF HIS LAST APARTMENT IN PARIS, WHERE HE LIVED DURING 1927-28 WITH HIS SECOND WIFE, PAULINE PFEIFFER, WHO HE MARRIED IN MAY 1927. HIS BOHEMIAN DAYS WERE OVER AND HE COULD BY NOW AFFORD TO LIVE IN COMFORT. HE HAD ESTABLISHED HIMSELF WITH THE SUN ALSO RISES (OCTOBER 1926 BY SCRIBNER’S), HIS FIRST NOVEL, AND RECOGNIZED AS HIS GREATEST WORK. HE AND PAULINE WOULD LEAVE PARIS IN MARCH 1928 AND MOVE TO KEY WEST, FLORIDA. PSA/DNA AUTHENTICATED.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY (1899-1961) HANDWRITTEN LETTER FRAGMENT SIGNED, “Yours always, Ernest Hemingway, 6 rue Ferou”, 3.25 x 1.75, desirable vintage (1927-28) fountain pen signature clipped from the close of a letter, with several words in Hemingway’s hand on the reverse. The American novelist, short-story writer, and journalist’s who’s first novel, The Sun Also Rises, was published in late 1926 by Scribner’s and would eventually become one of the most translated titles in the world.   He divorced his first wife, Hadley, in January 1927 and married his second wife, Pauline, in May 1927 (they would live in his last Paris apartment so noted beneath his signature on this literary treasure), and they would then leave Paris in March 1928 to move to Key West, FL (all happening during the time of this wonderful handwritten letter fragment). We include images, obtained through our internet search, of their Paris apartment building and of Hemingway and Pauline together in Paris in 1927.
