Iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo continues to garner attention sixty-seven years after her death at age forty-six. When flapper-style dresses and thin eyebrows were in, Frida wore the traditional Tehuana costume of the indigenous women of Oaxaca and embraced her thick eyebrows and faint moustache. Her clothing, her jewelry and her hair all got her noticed. Up for auction is a complete look inspired by her singular style—tiered, ruffled skirt, peasant top, shawl, and coordinating jewelry. The look would also work as a gypsy/fortune teller costume.

The cotton-blend, ruffled skirt with tomato print has an elastic waistband (fits 30”- 40” waist), four tiers and measures 39” long. The traditional, lime-green cotton Mexican Manta embroidered peasant top is size XL and measures 24” from armpit to armpit and is 30” long. The fringed, yellow shawl, 50/50 Viscose Acrylic, is a plus on a chilly night. The necklace and matching earrings are one-of-a-kind, made to coordinate with the rest of the outfit. Yellow silk flowers for your hair complete the look.

From a non-smoking home. All of the clothing will arrive clean and fresh to your door.

The slightly higher price on this outfit is because the skirt has four tiers instead of three--more material, more work.
