Pictured is the exact 1973D Lincoln Cent with SUNKEN DIE error that the buyer will receive.

Worn out old Coin? Sure it is. BUT it's also definitely not an Error that you will see every day or even in every lifetime. There certainly should be more of them known about, but there simply are not. How I wound up with 4 of them I'll never know.

This LMC has what error-ref calls an Interior Die Subsidence, or Sunken Die Error. This Error has always occured in a semi straight swath of area diagonally across the 1973D LMC, mostly involving the area yo the left between the 1st and 3rd Pillars and can encompass from rim to rim.  As you can see in my photos this one involves the steps, the bldg, and to the left of the bldg. I will go so far as to say that it also effects the Obverse of the Coin at Lincoln's hairline at his forehead, as all 4 of mine have that same 2 Dents, and they don't look like any without the IDSE that I have used for comparison. This Coin also has a small Crack at the bottom left of the Bldg.

So head on over to error-ref and see that the Coin is nearly identical to their example.
