THANK YOU FOR LOOKING

This listing is for a brand new, made upon order, premium custom fit Catalina 25 main sail cover. Made from genuine Sunbrella marine grade fabric in the color of your choice.
PLEASE contact me first to confirm I have the Sunbrella fabric color you want on hand. The very popular blue color shown in the first picture is called Pacific Blue.
I stock 20+ of Sunbrella's more popular fabric colors. They are constructed from genuine Sunbrella marine grade fabric and not some cheap substitute I fell like calling Sunbrella just to sell sail covers.
Standard Features:
Twist Lock fasteners to close it below the boom are standard and spaced 16 inches or less apart.
Twist lock fasteners are supported by 3 layers of fabric, instead of the normal 2 layers of fabric.
Wide teeth YKK brand # 10 zipper to close it in front of mast is recessed behind the fabric edges for more protection from the sun.
Extra inner layer of fabric in headboard area and along the mast sides  for added chafing protection from hardware.
Aft end has a tie line to hold it back to the aft boom end to prevent strong winds from creeping it forward along the boom.
Upper seam that runs along the top of the cover above the boom center has a strong sturdy uv resistant vinyl piping bead in it which adds shape and protects the thread in that seam from exposure to the sun.
Strong sturdy collar atop the cover to wrap around the mast. Made from 2 layers of Sunbrella fabric with a inner lining of commercial vinyl for chafe protecting from contact with the mast.
All hems sewn using two or three rows of stitching instead of the normal 1 or two.

NOTICE: Wait time varies. Current wait time to make it is 10 to 14 days. Please contact me  about your color choice Before you buy it   to make sure I have the Sunbrella fabric color you want and at that time I can provide a more accurate current wait time until you cover is made and shipped. I have zero control over the current wait time since it depends entirely upon how many custom fit canvas orders I get each day and week. Current wait time is 7 days, but it changes constantly and gets longer towards springtime..
I am sorry about the price increase on my listed canvas item, but unfortunately my costs for Sunbrella fabric, twist lock fasteners, zippers and shipping costs have been constantly increasing and I have no control over it.

If you want the cheapest lowest cost sail cover you can find you came to the wrong place. If you want a better made longer lasting cover that will look great on your vessel with many extra quality workmanship details for the price you have come to the right place.

I deal only in above average quality materials and workmanship for sailors who want the things they purchase to last and be trouble free as possible.
I offer higher than normal premium quality at a lower than normal price for the level of quality and materials I provide.

Please note: This cover Does NOT fit and include the Catalina 250 1995 or newer. The Catalina 250 requires a longer sail cover which is available at slightly higher cost. Please see my other eBay listing for a Catalina 250 main sail cover. I make main sail covers for any type of vessel up to sail cover length of 28 feet long.
Yes here is a lot to read below, but you absolutely deserve to know how your main sail cover is made, exactly what you are spending your money on,what materials are used and all of the small details and again exactly what you are spending your hard earned money on__so please read all the information below__it really does matter.  It is the longevity of what we sailors purchase that adds value. Buying lower cost, lower quality boating items does not save us any money when they fail to provide longevity. No other cover maker that I know of includes all of the features I include as standard. The white semi-solid vinyl bead in the seam over the boom for instance adds to material costs and to work time__so they don't do it. But that semi-solid vinyl bead adds shape to the cover and completely hides the thread from UV rays from the sun. It also easily allow you to know which side is up. Sail covers are not one size fits all items and there are huge differences in the quality of the fabrics being used today. Many cover makers charge extra for the items I include as standard. You may find lower priced sail covers__but you will not find better made sail covers at this price level. My desire is not to sell the cheapest cover, but instead the best made covers for the price. Since the longer they last you__and the more years of use they provide__the lower the actual cost per year is.

All boats and all main sails are not alike. Thus the main sail covers are also not all alike in size. Both the length and the height going back along the boom does matter. The height of the cover at the mast, the height midway back and the height of the cover at the boom end are all just as important as the total length. The collars on the covers that go around the mast that I make are made Custom fit for the boat it will be used on, not just a piece of rope or simple strap to tie it closed around the mast. Sail covers are not one size fits all items.  So I custom make each cover for the boat it is going to be used on.
It costs nothing to ask, so please contact me if you need a new sail cover for any boat with up to a 28 foot long boom length that you really want to fit your boat correctly and look great.. I specialize in gaff rig cat boat sail covers at a great cost savings compared to canvas shops. The more complicated the cover is__the more I can save you.
Please use Ask seller a question__it costs nothing to ask.

The cover up for bid is designed to fit the popular Catalina 25, it is shown in Sunbrella Pacific Blue color, the most popular color used by sailors.
Last picture shows OPTIONAL Solas reflective tape sewn onto the main sail cover as a $2.00 per foot option. A 3 foot long strip of the reflective tape sewn on each side of the cover amounts to a $12 option and it is great for people who moor their vessels.
Please note: The photos are just to show general shape of cover and some of the small but important details. Yes it is a Catalina 22 in the photo.  The Catalina 22 cover is also available at slightly lower cost. The cover listed in also available in many other of the more popular Sunbrella fabric colors at the same bid price.   A matching tiller cover is available at just $27.50 extra with the sail cover purchase. PLEASE if you want the optional tiler cover Please contact me first and I will list the sail cover and tiller cover together for you.
Other sizes of sail and tiller covers made in colors to fit you needs perfectly for any larger or smaller sailboat are available upon request.
I make main sail covers up to 28 feet long and I also make stay-on boom 'stack pack' type sail covers and sail covers for vessels with wooden gaff rig covers.. Stack Pack and wooden gaff rig prices are higher per foot.
Prices vary depending upon length and based upon the inch so you only pay for the exact length that you want and get.___I do not jump the price up based upon the next closest foot of length.. Many Glen Raven Mills genuine Sunbrella brand marine fabric colors available also. You have nothing to lose and much to gain by simply using ask Seller a Question and asking or contacting me at sgentilejr at america on line dot com. or calling (732) 495-1892.
Please keep in mind___it is the added attention to details and quality that results in longevity and lower cost when things last longer and do not have to replaced as frequently or require repairs. You can buy any low cost cheap sail cover that may or may not fit correctly or provide longevity or you can buy a sail cover from me that is a great looking cover and is made to custom fit and that is very well made sail cover that you will be proud to own.
This cover up for bid is made from genuine USA made original Sunbrella brand marine acrylic fabric made by Glen Raven Mills inside of the USA, it is NOT one of the lower cost per yard substitute fabrics such as Surelast fabric made by the same company that makes Sunbrella marine fabric and not one of  the other much lower costs substitute fabrics such as Marine One, WeatherMax, WeatherGuard, SureLast or Pro-Tuf to name a few. Or any other lower cost fabric substitutes that some people mistakenly call Sunbrella. Some of those other substitute fabrics sell for up to 50% less per yard than genuine Sunbrella marine fabric and you get what you pay for.. Value comes from longevity.
The big difference between my sail covers and many other covers is attention to tiny details and quality workmanship.
I have been both a sail and power boat owner for almost 40 years now and from long term experience I know which areas are under more stress and can wear out first, so I place extra effort into making those areas to make them better than normally found on most covers.  I just hate things that are poorly made and fall apart myself and if you feel the same way then I am the guy you need to make your next main sail cover for you. On my covers all hem seams are sewn three times along the bottom where the twist lock fasteners (also know as Common Sense or turn button fasteners) The twist lock fasteners are Standard because they are better and not optional because they cost more or require more work time to install them. Most sail cover makers today charge $20-$25 extra or more for Common Sense Twist Lock fasteners and instead they provide cheap Chinese made plastic buckles and low cost straps to close the bottoms of their sail covers.  The twist lock fasteners are spaced 16 inches apart (or less) to more evenly spread out the stress load from high winds. They are installed through 3 layers of Sunbrella fabric, plus I use a very sticky double sided acrylic rubberized seam tape in all seams which fuses to the fabric under the pressure from sewing through it. I include them at no extra cost because I want your cover to last and be as trouble free as possible.  I also hate thread coming out in long strands when the covers get older and the thread breaks, so by sewing through the sticky acrylic tape hidden inside the seams it assures the thread will never come out even when snagged on something and the thread is broken.   All of these extra attention to details makes it unnecessary to tie a line around the sail covers I make when high wind storms approach (as we see many sailors do) to avoid damages to their cover and sail.  Ask other sail cover sellers how far the distance is between the fasteners on their covers and how many layers of fabric there are supporting the fasteners. Or if they double stitch the zipper and use the same very sticky acrylic tape under it before sewing it into place. The sewn seam above the boom running forward and aft is also triple stitched.  Plus along the top seam above the boom I place an UV resistant semi-solid white vinyl bead (as found around the edges on boating seat cushions) to make the seam stronger, prettier and easier to line up on your boom and the cover sags less.. That piping bead sell for $3.00 per yard normally and it takes an extra hour to sew it into that seam. Also by using the white vinyl bead all of the thread in that seam is completely concealed from sunlight which makes it last longer without any chance of it rotting due to UV rays from the sun. The white vinyl bead makes lining the cover up faster and you always easily know which side goes on facing up day or at night in the dark. This is an added feature I use, which adds the cost (check prices on eBay for marine piping or welt bead) of the vinyl piping bead, rather than the easier and faster method of just sewing the two sides of the cover fabric directly together as most cover makers do which is far easier, faster and less costly. I add a second inside layer of inner chafe protection fabric in the sail headboard area to prevent the headboard or fittings from causing friction wear damage to the outer sail cover fabric.  I also add an inner layer of fabric where your mast mounted winches are located at no added cost to you to help prevent friction caused wear damage to the cover. I use YKK brand size 10 wide teeth marine grade Vislon plastic marine quality zippers and I recess the zippers behind the fabric edges for added protection from UV rays and dirt buildup and I even use EZ brand zipper and snap lube on the zippers before I ship he covers out because I want them to last and work smoothly as long as possible.. I cut all of the fabric pattern out with a hot knife that melts this acrylic fabric to prevent it from unraveling and fraying on the edges the same way thatas many sailors do with their lines. I also use a hot knife to melt the fabric edges where the fasteners penetrate the fabric to help prevent the fasteners from pulling out and to avoid fraying of the fabric, instead of just using a much easier die punch to punch holes through the fabric where the Twist Lock fasteners are located which leaves raw edges that are more likely to fray. I use only American made thread such as Sunguard brand. I color match the thread to the fabric color color. I use thread size 92 and 138, it is UV resistant bonded marine polyester thread. All of my mast neck collars are custom made from multi-layers of Sunbrella fabric for an exact fit around your boats mast. They close very securely using a large patch of sewn in place Velcro which alone holds it closed very securely. Plus I also add in a brass grommet and tie chord, for the old timers like me who really want to make sure it is very secure. I also add a brass grommet near the aft end of the cover in case you need a handy spot to hang an anchor light or cockpit light from at night or a place to hang loose sheets from to get them out of the way.

Workmanship warranty for 3 years on the seams opening up and against the fasteners pulling out of the fabric and against the zipper separating from the fabric and I even make FREE sewing repairs if you or your crew accidentally damage the cover during those first 3 years.

Ask other cover sellers for a three year warranty on those items and 3 years of free sewing repairs even if accidentally damaged and see how they respond.
If they say no, then obviously they either have less confidence in their own workmanship and/or do not like sewing as much as I do.
My boat and my sail cover survived Hurricane Sandy on Barnegat Bay without any damage to the sail cover and without tying any lines around it that some sailors believe they need to protect their sail cover and sail from storm damages. My goal is to make covers that not only last longer, but also that are problem and trouble free as possible. The difference is I am an experienced sailor who has constantly owned both sail and power boats since 1974 and I know what works and I do not mind putting in extra labor time into every cover I make so my fellow sailors get a cover from me that does not fall apart after just a few years of usage. From personal use and experience I know which areas wear first and can cause problems so I place more effort in making those prone to wear areas last longer. So please look carefully at the details show in the photos, because there are big differences in the small details. Need a cover for a Cat boat___no problem and far better quality and lower cost to boot.
Thank you for your interest and remember___it costs nothing to ask, so if you have a Catalina 38 or Jeanneau 44 or any Cat boat or need a stay in place catch the main sail Stack Pack type sail cover just ask and mention the boat and it's length. If you need a small lake boat sail boat cover___no problem I love doing them also and in my book you are my fellow sailor and just as important to me, regardless if you have a 14 foot day sailor on a lake or a 80 footer that you cruise the world in and I respect and treat everyone equally. As you are the Boss.
