These books etc. come from my father-in-law's estate. We have an entire weaving and yarn shop inventory to sell that was filled to the brim.
This book was found in a locked glass bookcase in my father-in-law's yarn shop. This book is in NEAR MINT condition. The spine is unbroken. There is no dust jacket. Actual front and back boards have very minimal damage. No marks or highlighting in text. Pages are crisp, clean and unmarked. Cover lies flat. All black and white illustrations. Illustrated, collectible, 1st edition.
This book is an ex-library book from back in the day when people did not mess up other people's things. There is a small straight 1 inch tear in the side edge of the second black page. This book has a withdrawn stamp and a Teacher's Room stamp on the title page. The copyright page has the same stamps plus a pinprick stamp on it. The dedication page has 3 tiny stamps of library numbers and a note in pencil in the upper left corner. The chapter on Frans Masereel has one Teacher's Room stamp. There is a Teacher's Room stamp on page 61 and 71. There is another Teachers Room stamp on the Jozef Cantre chapter break as well as the Gustaaf De Smet one. There is evidence of a previous library card holder in the back of the book. Teachers Room books are not in general circulation. Children, for the most part, did not get their hands on this book :) Please assume we missed something. Old eyes, sigh. Please see pictures.

PLEASE NOTE: Because eBay is composed of soulless, bloodsucking monsters, and because it is forcing us to use an ISBN number for a book that DOES NOT have an ISBN number, and even when it DOES have an ISBN, still won’t let us use it, so we use one of a random book. Our book is pre-ISBN numbers. The Library of Congress number is not in the book because it was produced in Antwerp, Belgium. The LOC does not hyphenate when you put the number in to verify. Fake ISBN number is 9781014236289. Correct ISBN number is non-existent. We put in whichever one the system will take. Sorry!
Note: We are running out of estate books and will be slowly changing over to their other possessions – some serious, some MCM, some just funky, or kitschy. Others are Depression era. Some will be brand new items, still in their packaging, and others will be more mainstream books (from one of the Grandma’s) or some of our personal books or collectables, as we are not leaving this mess to our kids. We hope you will have fun and stay with us.
Shipping – All books are shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday on the first day possible after payment is received around 8 to 9 AM. They are shipped by Media Mail in heavy brown paper, similar to a grocery paper bag. All wrapping and shipping materials are recycled from the cardboard to bubble wrap to 50 year old envelopes. Our packages are ugly, but are very carefully wrapped to arrive safely. We always refund shipping credit if you buy multiple items. Free local pick up. We refund your shipping charges!
