The Capri Mk III was available to buy from 1978 and featured new quad headlights, together with improved aerodynamics and a rear spoiler. Initially it used the same power units as the Mk II models, but in 1981 Ford dropped the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre V6's and replaced them with the 2.8 injection. 1984 saw further improvements to the 2.8 model which was now called the 2.8 injection special. This had a half-leather interior and a limited slip differential. The last run limited edition 'Brooklands' Green, 280 model, featured a full leather Recaro interior and 15 inch seven spoke alloys. When the final Capri rolled off the production line in December 1986, it marked the end of a production of 1,886,647 Capris. Total Mk III production - 324,045.
