The Sunbeam Motor Car Company was founded in 1888 by John Marston (1836-1918) in Wolverhampton, their first production motor car introduced in 1901. This print celebrates classic Sunbeams from the postwar years, such as the Rapier, part of the 'Audax' range of Rootes models, introduced in 1955 and the beautifully styled Sunbeam Alpine, introduced in 1959. In 1964, with Carroll Shelby's involvement and Ford's V-8 power, the Sunbeam Tiger came on the scene. This car shared Cobra's 260-cid Ford V-8, but in milder tune. The Sunbeam name was last used on the Stiletto, a version of the Imp in 1976.
