Runner Hand Knotted Wool Chobi PeshawarTraditional Area Rug Rust 2'9" x 13'11"

This is a beautiful Rust, Beige, Brown, Turquoise, Gold, Multi Hand Knotted Runner from Pakistan. Made by skilled craftsman, the rug is a beautiful symphony of bold motifs, stunning colors and consummate artisanship. This rug representing an illustrious legacy of exquisite artistry and intricate craftsmanship is primed to add visual glamor and class to its surroundings. Its soft texture and timeless design make it ideal to enhance any space where it is placed.

Story Behind the Art:  Chobi rugs have a rich lineage rooted in Persian, Turkman and Afghan cultures. Woven in the Peshawar region of Pakistan, these rugs reflect the rugged terrain they are manufactured in. In fact, the word “Chobi” signifies colors of wood. So, it is highly significant that the majority of Chobi rugs have brownish hue or earth tones palette. This rug has been made with vegetable dye and finest quality of hand-spun lanolin rich wool. It is the use of such vegetable dyes that give Chobi Peshawar their distinctive abrash quality (gently wavering shades of color across the pile), and their distinctive character.
