Petrified Wood Limb (Araucaria (conifer) - Location: Madagascar. Here we have an aesthetic and colorful petrified wood limb with one of the ends polished from Madagascar. It is an Araucaria (conifer) from the Triassic period. The limb shows great detail and looks just like it did when the limb was still part of a 'living' tree. This makes a great display specimen (my own personal preference) however this piece also has potential for lapidary purposes.

Thumbnail - thumbnail specimens must fit completely inside an "imaginary" 1 inch cube. Look for -THN in our titles.
Miniature - miniature specimens must fit completely inside an "imaginary" 2 inch cube. Look for -MIN in our titles.
Small Cabinet - small cabinet specimens must fit completely inside an "imaginary" 3 inch cube. Look for -SCB in our titles.
Cabinet - cabinet specimens are those larger than 3 inches. (too large to fit inside a 3 inch cube) Look for -CAB in our titles.
