This is a brand-new 1:43 release by Legends of Racing of the Ford Galaxie 500 entered by Bondy Long and driven by 1964 NASCAR champion Ned Jarett. It was produced about 30 years ago if memory serves me correctly. It comes with a black base, clear acrylic case top, and a full-color background showing a crowd in the bleachers- a neat feature only done by Legends of Racing. The car has black windows (early days of diecast NASCAR models).

I had 1965 NASCAR Grand National driver Ned Jarrett of NC autograph this car for me. On request, he also signed, in his own-hand writing, "1965 NASCAR Champion" below his signature. That addition to his normal signature makes this model that much rarer.

Ned won the 1961 NASCAR Grand National championship as well. Ned was elected into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2011. He ran 352 NASCAR races with 50 wins (a win average of 14 percent)- truly one of the greats of NASCAR.

This car's acrylic top was signed using a brand-new black Sharpie pen, so the signature is crisp and clear. It's been displayed in a pet-free, smoke-free home so their are no odors on the model. It's never been near any direct sunlight so there is no fading on this model.

This dark blue Ford Galaxie 500 stock car was run by Bondy Long of SC; a longtime friend of Ned Jarrett's. Jarrett retired from racing shortly after winning the championship in 1965 with this car, largely due to the loss of drivers like Joe Weatherly and Fireball Roberts- both close friends of Ned's. He went on to a many-decades-long career in NASCAR sports-casting. He called the Daytona 500 race that was won by his son Dale in the early 1990's.
